“ Oorja CAPFs” Curtain Raiser held

SRINAGAR, ( J&K), April 27, 2017 (TVN):“OORJA CAPFs”  Under 19 Football Talent Hunt Tournament for boys and girls is beingorganised nation wide, covering all the states and UTs in India as a talent identification mission and the same is recognized by Ministry of youth affairs and sports, Govt. Of India.

The curtain raiser to “OORJA 2017”  organised  Thursday at TRC ground, Srinagar

for the state of J&K. This tournament is being organised primarily for talent hunt in the run up

to  FIFA under 17 World cup in October 2017, India’s biggest sporting activity ever and leaving a

lasting legacy for the first  FIFA  tournament in India.

As a part of mission XI million, it has been planned to take the beautiful  game of

football  to at least 11 million young boys and girls around the country. This tournament will be

engaging thousands of young under 19 boys and girls over a number of matches being played

during the course of three months and three phases, becoming the largest sporting event ever

organised by  the CAPFs.

The objectives of the tournament are :

● To be a part of mission XI million

● To create fervor among the youth of India towards football.

● To select promising players to represent our country in Asian championship.

● To recruit young and emerging players in CAPFs.

The tournament will be conducted in three phases in which different schools, clubs and other

sports entities will be fielding their teams for the prizes worth lakhs and finally to produce a pool

of talent for Indian team.

In 1st phase, total 16 teams (8 teams each of boys and girls of J&K state) will be competing

for the trophy and the prize money of Rs.4.5 lakhs for the winners and the Runners up.

The logo of “OORJA 2017”  was unveiled with the mission  statement ;Arise, Awake and

stop not until the goal is reached”. The mascot of the tournament GABRUt; the lion cub

epitomise youthful exuberance, unbridled energy, zest for life, incredible desires for success

and achievements.

To carry on the spirit of OORJA, CRPF has decided to felicitate Miss. Tajamul Islam, as the

brand ambassador for this tournament in J&K. She is the youngest kick boxing player from

Kashmir who represented India at Italy in 2016 and won gold medal for the country by her sheer

determination, skill and self discipline. In recognition of her talent,

presented bouquet and gifted her a beautiful pack of Kick Boxing Kit at the Curtain Raiser

Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTADC) Act 1979 was passed by the Indian parliament after series of democratic movements launched by the indigenous people of Tripura under the provision of the 7th scheduled of the Indian constitution.

The principal objective behind autonomous district council was to empower the ingenious people  to govern themselves and also to bring all round developments of the backward people so as to protect and preserve their culture, customs and tradtions.

Priyoranjan passes away

KOLKATA, Nov 20:  Former  union minister and congress leader Priyoranjan Das Munshi  passed away on Monday. He was 72, left behind   wife Deep Das Munshi and son Priyodeep Munshi. The congress leader was  on coma since 2008.

A press statement issued from Indrapastha hospital , Delhi stated that Priyoranjan Das Munshi  passed away at 12.10 pm  noon Monday.
