We Indians were, as usual, excited at having the Prime Minister of Japan to lay the foundation stone for the high-speed bullet train project between Ahmedabad and Mumbai that is likely to be completed in the next five years. Japanese and Chinese have mastered this technology which they need to sell and India is one of the target countries.

Asian kick boxing:Tripura’s Nishtha bags bronze medal

AGARTALA, April 30,2017 (TVN): Nishtha Chakraborty, of the state made India proud by lifting the Bronze medal in the ongoing Asian kick-boxing championship being held at Ashgabat in Central Asian country, Turkmenistan .On  Saturday  Nishtha had participated in the tournament as a member of the Indian kick-boxing team and had lost the semi-final.

The championship is being held under the banner of ‘WAKO Asian Kick-boxing championship-2017’ and Nishtha had contested under 65 kg light category.Her coach Pinaki Chakraborty had informed she however outperformed her rival in the fight for Bronze and seized the medal by sheer skill and strength’.

Earlier Nishtha had won the national gold medal for kick-boxing and had been selected for the Asian championsip after performing well in the selection trial held at Pune between March 24 and April 1.She is  first year English (honours) student in Holy Cross college,
