Malicious Attempts To Malign Mother Teresa Charity: Mamata

Kolkata, July 14,2018: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee attacked on the BJP for its “malicious attempts to malign” the name of Missionaries of Charity.

On Thursday, the Chief Minister, who is at present in North Bengal, tweeted: “Mother Teresa herself set up Missionaries of Charity. And now they are also not being spared. Malicious attempts to malign their name.”

This comes after names of two members of Ranchi unit of the Missionaries of Charity have been “dragged” into the controversy involving the sale of babies.

Raising her voice against the action, Banerjee further stated in her tweet: “The Sisters are being targeted. BJP want to spare no one.”

 

Mamata Govt To Bring School Education Under ‘Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan’

Kolkata,July 12,2018 ‘Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan’ a programme created by combining Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan – will now form the basis of the Bengal Government’s approach to school education. This would help in optimising the administration of education in Bengal.

This programme would work for all aspects of management and betterment of education (including aspects like the free distribution of school textbooks, shoes and uniforms) right from the pre-primary to the higher secondary level.

A person experienced in the administration of education would be nominated by the State Government for heading the programme. There would a district head for each of the districts too.

Scientists would be inducted in the programme to visit schools and awaken interest in science among students.

 

Before 21st July, Modi Likely To Visit Bengal

Kolkata, July 7.2018 : Before 21st July, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to address a rally in West Bengal’s Midnapore on July 16 to underscore his message to farmers after the Centre raised the crop support prices on Wednesday.

According to sources, state BJP party already sent proposal to the centre. Modi’s visit comes just over a fortnight after the Bengal trip of BJP chief Amit Shah, who set state leaders the target of winning at least 22 of Bengal’s 42 Lok Sabha seats next year.

Sources also added that Modi will campaign about the Centre’s move to increase minimum support prices for agriculture produce. The state BJP continued that Midnapore was chosen as a venue in the wake of the party’s advances in the Panchayat polls.

Earlier speaking at a meeting in Purulia, the BJP chief Amit Shah launched an all-out attack on the two-time Chief Minister’s government and said that handle Bengal properly at first then try for Delhi.

 

2 Leopards To Arrive At Bengal Safari Park

SILIGURI, July 4,2018: Bengal Safari Park near Siliguri, a popular tourist destination, is going to get two more guests – two leopards, lovingly named Sachin and Sourav. A leopard safari is beginning from the end of June at Bengal Safari Park.

The leopards will be brought from Khayerbari Tiger Rehabilitation Centre, which was set up in 2005 for rehabilitating royal Bengal tigers rescued from circuses. The two leopards were caught at Santali Tea Garden in Kalchini block five years ago. An area of 20 acres has been fenced for them.

Bengal Safari Park is full of animals of various kinds – tigers, black bears, deer, elephants, rhinoceroses, etc. – as well as birds of many species, the latter especially during the winter. It is gradually become one of the best tourist attractions in north Bengal.

 

Somnath Chatterjee Admitted To Hospital Due To Cerebral Attack

Kolkata, June 28,2018: Former Lok Sabha speaker Somnath Chatterjee admitted to Belle Vue hospital due to cerebral attack, his condition remains critical. He has been admitted in the hospital since Monday.

Chatterjee was admitted to Belle Vue hospital on Monday after he suffered a cerebral attack. He had suffered a mild cerebral stroke back in 2014 as well. Chatterjee, who was associated with the Communist Party of India (Marxist), is currently an independent candidate. He served as Speaker of Lok Sabha from 2004 to 2009.

Chatterjee had recently criticised the State Election Commission (SEC) over the panchayat polls. He said that he had not seen such a violent run-up to an election in West Bengal during his long political career. Chatterjee underlined that the state government cannot give directions to the SEC since it is an independent body.

 “The SEC is not being able to take independent decisions. It should discharge its duties without any influence. But today we can see that it has failed to conduct a peaceful election,’’ he had said.

Sanjay Chander, IPS , ADG & IGP, IB,WB will take over as ADG CIF, WB with additional charge of ADG, Establishment, WB.

Siddh Nath Gupta, IPS, the present ADG CIF, WB with additional charge of ADG, Establishment, WB will take over as ADG & IGP, IB, WB.

Vishal Garg, IPS the present Addl. CP – V, Kolkata in the rank of IGP will take over as IGP, IB, WB.

Kallol Ganai, IPS, presently posted as IGP Murshidabad Range, will take over as IGP, Jalpaiguri Range. He will look after Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri and Coochbehar Districts.

Rajesh Kumar Yadav, IPS, presently posted as DIG, Jalpaiguri Range, will take over as DIG, Cyber Crime, CID, WB.
