Pollution control board directed to monitor CNG station

AGARTALA, September 9, 2017 (TVN): The high court has directed state pollution control board to regularly monitor the CNG filling station in TRTC complex of Krishanagar. If the station causes any kind sound pollution the court directed the pollution board to take legal action.    

The high court division bench of  chief justice T.Vaipei and justice S.Talapatra  after hearing the public interest litigation filed by residents of Krishna Nagar  ordered TNGCL to install modern equipment for preventing sound pollution and  take precautionary measures when using explosive substances.

In 2015, a PIL was filed in high court mentioning how the filling station was polluting the environment along with the report of pollution control board by residents of Krishna Nagar.  Advocate Puroshtam Roy Barman represented the residents of Krishna Nagar  and assisted by advocate Samarjit Bhattacherjee and Kaushik Nath .
