Sexual abuse: SDM sent ‘compulsory waiting’

AGARTALA, Sept 13, 2017 (TVN): The SDM of Kailashahar, Subrata Choudhury (TCS grade – I ) accused of sexually abusing is brought to Agartala. He has been told to be in ‘compulsory waiting’. A notification in this regard was issued by GA (P&T) on Tuesday.SDM of Longtarai Valley Subhas Chandra Saha will be the new SDM of Kailashahar.  

A DC of SDM office Kailashahar  have given  a written complain of unwanted behavior by Subrata Choudhury. In a letter to DM of Unakoti, the DC stated that  on 8 September Subrata Choudhury after coming to her government quarter tried to abuse her sexually. A copy of the complaint letter was given to chief secretary. On Tuesday, DM of Kailashahar was told for immediate inquiry of the allegation. The accused  SDM was brought to Agartala.   

As per Supreme Court guideline all DM offices have a committee. The committee of sexual harassment in working places is told to investigate the allegation. After getting the report government will take action against the accused SDM.

Meanwhile members of tribal officers’ welfare forum met chief minister Manik Sarkar in his official residence.  Chief Minister was briefed about the incident and demanded him to take action against the accused SDM.
