CM criticizes withdrawing eight local trains

KOLKATA, Jan 19, 2018 (TVN): Chief Minister Mamata Bannerjee severely criticized central government decision of withdrawing eight local trains from different routes.

Sources in Navana, said chief minister termed the decision as insult to Bengal and Bengal people. She also stated it as political decision taken by BJP government in centre.

It is mentionable that the union railway ministry on Friday took decision in this regard of withdrawing eight local trains form the state West Bengal. A letter was sent to state chief secretary.

In the letter it was mentioned Kalyani – Kalyani border, Sonarpur – Canning, Shantipur – Nabadwip, Barassat – Hasnabad, Baliganj – Budgebudge, Baruipur – Namkhana, Bardwan – Katoia, Bhimgarh – Palashshuth route trains will be withdrawn. As the routes are not profitable railway is willing to withdraw the local trains, stated the letter.   

As the news came the daily passengers are criticizing the decision. Local train is the prime life line of common people. They can travel longer distance with less fare. The decision of central government is not pro – people.
