27,289 Govt posts lying vacant

Agartala, Feb 25: A total of 27,289 post lying vacant in various departments of the state department informed Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in response to a question raised by opposition MLA Sahid Choudhuri in assembly today.   

Chief Minister who is holding the portfolio of General Administration ( P & T) stated that for feeling the vacant posts government already took initiatives through direct recruitments. Whereas initiative for  promotional post could not be taken due stay order of Supreme Court.

Replying to another question raised by treasury bench member Ratan Chakraborty who wanted to know if function of administration is affected due to the stay order.

Chief Minister informed that due to stay order promotion in various posts could not be done and affecting the function of administration to some extent. The promotion posts have been stopped since  March,2017.

 In another reply, Chief Minister informed  at present there are 49 IAS officers, 48 IPS officers, 46 IFS officers, 194 TPS officers and 304 TCS officers.

Among them 17 are nominated IAS and IPS officers, 12 nominated IFS officers, 80 are nominated TPS officers and 114 TCS officers. At present there are 103 TCS and 34 TPS post lying vacant.
