CPM reopens party office in Kamalpur

Kamalpur, March 23,2019:  One year after being ousted  by BJP – IPFT alliance, hundreds of CPM supporters today made their presence felt again in Kamalpur, Tripura's Dhalai district  amidst tight security arrangements.    

Holding CPM flags an estimated one thousand, including women led by Left Front candidate for East parliamentary seat Jitendra Chaudhury arrived in the party office. There Chaudhary hoisted the party flag.   

 Kamalpur sub division secretary Anjan Das, state committee member  Amalendu Debbarma, veteran communist leader Ranjit Ghosh, Kamal Kar, Harimadhav Sharma and Birendra Pal.

Later speaking to reporters, Chaudhary said “ Ever since BJP – IPFT alliance has come to power in the state, activists and cadre of BJP have unleashed attacks on the left. Offices are being burnt, activists being attacked. In Kamalpur itself 19 people were physically tortured, 4 houses (including one of LC Secretary) was gutted, 200 houses were attacked and looted”

The BJP – IPFT government in the state   is gradually losing its popularity after failing to fulfil promises like Prime Minister Modi. Seeing defeat of Modi in this parliamentary election many leaders   are in race to leave BJP as done by senior leader of BJP, Subal Bhowmick, Choudhary said.

He also informed  today  CPM party offices were opened at Manik Bhander,  Santir Bazaar and Halahali after gap of one year. Chaudhary also claimed that he is confidence of wining the East parliamentary seat going to poll on April 18.
