CPM candidate election rally attacked in Taidu,

Agartala April 6, 2019 : Tension runs high in Taidu market after a group of IPFT supporters allegedly backed by BJP attacked the rally of CPM candidate  for East Tripura parliamentary seat and incumbent Lok Sabha MP JitendraChoudhury yesterday morning at Taidu. Four CPM supporters were injured in the attack. The incident prompted Police to rush to the spot.

Apart from the attack, the IPFT supporters also dam-aged the vehicles of Chaudhury and others. CPM, however, filed a complaint against the IPFT miscreants and took up the incident with Election Commission seeking directives.

“It was around 11.30 AM.Choudhury accompanied by two former Ministers Naresh Jamatia and Ratan Bhowmik was addressing the party workers at Taidumarket. Suddenly, around15-16 people rushed to the spot. They were carrying bamboo sticks. They first attacked our party supporters and also ransacked the vehicles of CPM leaders that were parked nearby. When some of our party workers tried to resist them,they were also beaten”, said a CPM leader.
