Badharghat by – election: LF candidate starts door to door campaign

Agartala, Sept 1,2019: Left Front candidate for Badharghat assembly constituency by- election, Bulti Biswas has started her  door to door election campaign. After Election Commission declared the by – election schedule. CPM nominated Bulti Biswas as Left Front candidate,who   is sitting member of Agartala Municipal Corporation.

Meanwhile, ruling BJP party and Congress yet to declare its candidate for the by – election schedule to held on September 23. According to report their are resentments among party workers regarding selection of BJP candidate due to  multiple contenders.

It is mentionable ere tat te election the Election Commission recently declared by-election schedule for Badharghat Assembly elections of West Tripura along with three more Assembly constituencies- Dantewada in Chhattisgarh, Pala in Kerala and Hamirpur in Uttar Pradesh.The by-election in all four Assembly constituencies would be held on September 23 while counting would be taken place on September 27.

An official notification for the by-election would be notified on August 28 commencing filing of nomination papers of prospective candidate.

The last date for filing of nomination paper is scheduled for September 4 while scrutiny would be done on the following day and last date for withdrawal would be on September 7.

The by-elections would be held on the electoral rolls with base year 01-01-2019. The model code of conduct would come into effect only in by-poll bound areas from August 28.

The by-election to Badhargaht Assembly constituency has become necessity following the death of Dilip Sarkar, who contested the 2018 Assembly election on BJP ticket.
