BSF to celebrate its 55th raising day on Dec 1st

Agartala, Nov 28,2019:The border guards posted in Tripura frontier seize large quantity of contraband items worth of around Rs. 32 crore in the current year till November 26th.

Before the celebration of BSF's 55th raising day on December 1st next , addressing a press conference  Soloman Yash Kumar Minz, IG of Tripura frontier said that BSF has now strengthen its drive against interstate and cross border smuggling of contrabands including Narcotics particularly Ganja and Yaba Tablets. During this year, till 26th Nov 2019, BSF deployed on Tripura border seized contraband and smuggled goods worth Rs.32.92 crore  in addition to destruction of 43,200 ganja plants spread over on 22 acres of land in joint operation with Forest department and local police forces.

Giving details of their success of BSF posted in Tripura, Minz said that during the same period BSF has apprehended 236 persons including 177 Indian, 65 Bangladesh nationals, 53 Rohingyas and one Nigerian from international border during their infiltration bid.

He said that BSF  is also celebrating 55th BSF Raising Day all over the state by conducting various programme like civic action programmes, medical camps,sScreening of BSF, patriotic movies, run and rally involving school children, debate competitions, cultural programmes, school visits by senior BSF officials, display of BSF band at public locations, felicitation of widows of BSF martyrs , conduct of sports activities, Dog show by BSF Dog squad, pre recruitment training to border youths etc. were organized by the frontier with dignity and pride.

BSF also maintain good relations with its counterpart Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB). Both the Border Guarding Forces have raised the level of understanding and friendship by various levels of talks, meetings and joint operations to prevent the trans-border crimes on International Border.
