Dr. Manik Saha new BJP state president

Agartala, Jan 15,2020;Dr. Manik Saha, has been formally declared as the new BJP state president on Wednesday in presence of party's central leaders.

Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhwat, who acted as the observer for the party's organizational election, declared the name of Dr. Saha as the new state president in presence of Mahendra Singh, a cabinet minister of Uttar Pradesh government, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and MP Pratima Bhoumik.

Party karyakarats- Dr. Ashok Sinha and Shambo Lal Chakma have been elected as the national council's members from the state. They will vote for the BJP national president elections.

Deb, who was the state party president, hoped the party would grow further under the leadership of Dr. Saha. "When I started work as BJP state president in 2016, the people used to tell my team is small and will not be able to compete with the CPI(M). In the 2018, Assembly elections, the BJP has won as many as 36 seats and toppled the Marxist fort after 25 years. I hope Dr. Saha will won improve party's tally from 36 to 60", he said.

Dr. Saha on his part promised to put in all possible efforts to improve party's base in the state with full cooperation from the party karyakarats.

While speaking at the proramme, Shekhwat hoped that the party would continue to work on the Modiji's slogan- Sabka Saath Sabka Vikash and Viswas under the new leadership in the state.
