No positive cases of Covid – 19 reported in last 14 days in state

Agartala, April 28,2020: Additional  Chief Secretary SK Rakesh who is in charge of health  department  on Monday  said  in the state with no positive case reported during the past 14 days. So far, a total of 4445 tests have been carried in the state and out of which only two positive cases were detected. Most importantly, the two Covid patients have already released from the hospital and they are now on the way to cure.

While briefing the media, Rakesh said inter-state movement is permitted during the second phase of lockdown. "It means the persons who are stranded outside the state due to the lockdown can return to the state. If they want to return home, the state government will ensure permission after taking up the matter with the concerned state", he said.

The Addl Chief Secretary said the government would soon unveil a protocol for those who want to return home during the lockdown period. So far, 167 persons who have got stranded outside the state have returned to the state. The government will not provide transportation charge to them.

He said the government is mulling to kick start normal economic activities as the state has already entered into green zone. "We have to begin normal economic activities because Coronavirus is not only the problem", he said.  

Rakesh further said the antibody test has been suspended after instruction from the ICMAR. "We have stopped antibody tests after the directive from ICMAR. The kits for rapid antibody tests appeared faulty. We will collect the unspent kits and send them back to Delhi", he said.
