CRPF personnel on leave will not be allowed to return Tripura during lock down

Agartala, May9,2020: CRPF personnel who have gone on leave before or during the lockdown will not be allowed to return to Tripura for the time being. The CRPF state authorities have taken this decision from the very beginning in view of the fact that BSF jawans in the state are constantly being infected with Covid-19 or Corona virus.

 Sources in  CRPF Tripura  Sector, informed there are currently three battalions of CRPF in the state. Most of their jawans are basically working with the civil police to maintain the overall law and order and security of the state. So in most cases they have to go in contact with ordinary people too. Therefore, officers and jawans at all levels have been instructed to act with utmost vigilance to ensuring their own health safety during the Covid-19 crisis and advised not to go to close contact with ordinary people. Each of their camp authorities deployed in rural areas has also been told this.

Moreover, the movement of everyone reside inside the CRPF group center areas which is  not far from Shalbagan BSF head quarter has also been restricted. No one from outside is allowed inside the group center.

Moreover, some of their old camps in three isolated areas have been converted into earmarked quarantine centers. These are at Baikhora, NC Para and Ratachhara. In case of any special situation, their jawans will be treated there. Besides, they have a small hospital at the group center in Agartala too. CRPF physicians have already been properly trained and prepared to treat patients with Covid-19 or Corona-infected forces, the source said.
