Clash breaks out between BJP & IPFT in Taidu, 3 injured

 August 15, 2020: A bloody clash  broke out in Taidu market on Saturday afternoon between workers and supporters of ruling allies  BJP and IPFT. The clash broke  over the formation of the bazaar committee, which was scheduled to come off today and supporters of both the parties had gathered from morning.

But since the BJP had most of the supporters the committee announced after meeting showed a majority of BJP supporters . The announcement however evoked an angry reaction from the IPFT supporters present in strength in the market . As the announcement was protested vociferously, clashes started between the supporters of BJP and IPFT.

Apart from the face-to-face clashes , a large number of IPFT supporters who had come armed with bows and arrows started shooting arrows at the BJP supporters. Altogether three BJP supporters sustained serious injuries and had to be sent to hospital.

As the clash showed signs of escalating the police and TSR force present in the market started and lathi-charge and then had to resort to firing tear gas shells to quell the trouble . After being reported about the happenings , SP (Gomati) Lucky Chauhan, SDPO Tuhitun Tripura and additional SP Sudip Kumar Paul rushed to the spot and tackled the situation . An uneasy lull has been reported from Taidu area under Amarpur subdivision even though the situation has been described by police sources here as 'tense but under control'.
