If BJP voted to power Tripura will be made a frontline state, says Modi

SONAMURA, Feb 8, 2018 (TVN):   Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched his Tripura assembly election campaign with a call ousting the Manik Sarkar – led government and   for development of the state at a mega rally in Sonamura of Sepahijala district.

In his signature style he spoke about the need to reverse  25 years of backwardness that Tripura   had suffered under CPI(M) rule and that the time had come for Tripura to reclaim its path to development.

He spoke of special package of  will be given  to transform  Tripura  and  make  it a frontline state. He went onto to list out various initiatives that BJP had planned for  Tripura.

He announced  if BJP comes to power the 7th pay commsiion will be implemented for state government employees and minimum wage of labourers will be increased.

Taking potshots at  Manik Sarkar, Modi said for last 25 years Maya Jaal (illusion) was created in the state to remain in power. Only the bank balance and his white kurtas was widely publicized in national level. But the dark side was never highlighted.

Manik Sarkar government in his long rule only nurtured corruption and violence in the sate. Nothing was done for the development of the people. Whatever central fund comes either they  are  not fully utilized or misused, Modi said.

Praising the Maharajas of Tripura, Modi said they have done lot for development of the state. For Maharja Bir Bikram Mankiya initative Tripura has become a part of India.
