Tripura polls: CC cameras, web casting and CAPF in all booths

AGARTALA, Feb 14, 2018 (TVN): In last  three days on 10,11 and 12 February 38 thousand 411 postal  ballot  vote was casted in the state.  The data of  13 February postal  ballot casting yet to be received,    This was informed by chief electoral officer ( CEO), Sriram Taranikanta.

Addressing a press meet  CEO on  Tuesday  said  as per election commissioner guideline a voter can  produce  one of the  twelve documents   other than voter I – card and photo voter slip supplied by BLO.

The documents are – passport, driving license, service I – card, bank pass book, pancard, smart card, MGNREGA job card, health insurance smart card, pension book, photo voter slip. But in all documents should bear the photo of voter.

For free and fair poll election commission took series of steps.  All booths will have CC cameras, facility for web casting, central paramilitary personnel will monitor the activities of polling parties in each polling booth  and all booths will be guarded by central paramilitary. State police and TSR will be deployed outside booth for maintaining law and order.  

The CEO said  47 booths will have managed by women in the state. Secuirty will be also be given by central women paramilitary personnel.  14 booths are in west Tripura, 9 in Sepahijala, 7 in South Tripura, 7 in North Tripura, 7 in North Tripur and 3 in Khowai district.
