35 injured as bus falls in deep gorge in Tripura.

Gandacherra, December 5,2018: : At least 35 persons were injured after an Agartala-bound passenger bus fell into a gorge at Kalajhari in Gandacherra sub-division of Dhalai district  today. Altogether 22 injured personswere referred to GBP hospital and the remaining persons were undergoing treatment at Gandacherra hospital till the last information came in. The condition of three amongst the 32 injured per-sons is stated to be critical.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb went to GBP hospital about  night and met the injured persons. He inquired about health condition of the injured people. The bus bearing numberTR01-B-1391 was heading towards Agartala  from Gandacherra. When the bus reached Kalajhari, it fell into a deep gorge as the driver lost his control over the vehicle. As a result, all passengers of the vehicle including the driver sustained injuries on their persons. It was then that the Fire Service personnel along with police reached the spot and rescued the injured persons.

When contacted, SDPO of  Gandacherra, B. Darlong   said over telephone, “All 33 injured persons including driver of the vehicle were rushed to Gandacherra  hospital. Among them, 22 persons were referred to GBP hospital condition of three are reported to be serious. However, the bus could not be rescued so far,” said the Dhalai district police chief.
