Poll Violence:Congress demands resignation of DGP, CEO

Agartala, April 11,2019: Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee alleged of mass  rigging and poll violence’s  in all assembly constituency under West Tripura Lok Sabha seat. Addressing a press meet Subal Bhowmick, Congress candidate for West Tripura  here at  Congress Bhawan said, “  BJP workers including its Lok Sabha candidate created an environment of terror among voters. In several places congress workers and polling agents were beaten. The polling officials    were forcefully removed from all polling station”

“ In spite of informing the fear of large scale violence and rigging to election commission no steps was taken. We have written to election commission demanding re polling  at 115 polling booths” , Subal said.

He also accused the DGP and CEO failing to provide security  to voters. “ yesterday night  I sat on dharna before police headquarter demanding deployment of adequate forces in all polling station so that voters can give cast their votes without fear. But nothing was done, not a single central paramilitary personnel was deployed at any polling station. We demand the resignation of DGP and CEO as both failed to take measure for free and fair poll”
