School girl in Tripura allegedly gang raped in moving car, condition serious

Agartala ,Dec 21, 2019:  A class nine student was allegedly  gang raped in moving car and later thrown out. The victim was recovered by locals and  presently undergoing treatment at GB Hospital. The condition of the girl is reported to be serious.

According to police the incident  happened on Friday afternoon when the girl was returning from school after giving  mathematics exam.

From the path she was abducted inside a black alto car. It was alleged she was gang raped inside  the car and later thrown out near a jungle in Thakurmura graveyard at Sonamura of  Sepahijala district.  

Locals after seeing an unconscious girl in pool of blood, informed the police. She was taken to Sonamura  hospital and later referred to   GBP hospital.

The victim belongs to daily wage earning family. The alleged gangrape have caused widespread resentment among people of Sonamura.

Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Panel Code (IPC) and began investigation. No arrest has been made so far.

In last 21 months, crime against women in state has increased rapidly under the rule of Chief  Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.   In the first week of December, a 17-year-old girl in Tripura was raped for one-and-a-half month and then burnt alive by a youth and his mother.
