Agartala, Dec 22,2019:  Tripura former minister and BJP MLA, Sudip Roy Barman is deeply worried on sharp rise  in violence against women – mainly rape, in the state and country. On January 3,2020  the seasoned politician is   going to organize an apolitical programme near Rabindra Bhawan.

In an open letter, which was circulated yesterday signed by Sudip Roy Barman, stated at present the country is passing through difficult phase, violence against women is on rise. Same is also happening here in Tripura, to end violence against women its prime time to create human barricade and create awareness among the society. He also urged in the letter, and requested all section people cutting across party line to attend the march and rally.

Meanwhile, the letter of Sudip Roy Barman from yesterday evening has become viral in social media. It is getting immense response. In less than 12 hours, the letter in Facebook received more than two thousand likes and above four hundred shares.

Besides, political pundits in the state started analyzing the initiative taken by the former minister and seasoned politician of the state. They think, it will be beginning of new political arithmetic in state politics.

In 2018 before assembly election with six MLAs joined BJP from Trinamool Congress. After BJP came to power, he was made the Health Minister of Chief Minister Biplab Kumar  Deb council of ministers. From the very first day, he started taking initiatives to restore the services of the health sector. Within six months the health sector in the state got a new shape. In Govind Ballab Pant Hospital and Medical College he started new departments like nuero surgeon etc. The patients used to get better service. But all of sudden, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb removed him from the council of minister.  The span of being minister may be less than twelve months but he remained a mark in the BJP government and won hearts of people.

On the other hand, BJP leaders in the state are in dilemma, what to do and what not to do?  A BJP leader Tapas Mazumder in his Facebook wall wrote “No  workers or supporters should attend the programme called by a BJP leader. If at all anybody attends, they should not hold any part flags or symbols”

A senior police officer requesting anonymity said,” Every day protest is being held across the country on CAA and NRC issue. Keeping on mind the CAA and NRC issue, the state administration may likely cancel the permission given of holding the march and rally on January 3”
