12 Bangladeshis held at Agartala’s MBB airport with fake aadhar cards

Agartala, Jan 5,2020:Twelve Bangladesh nationals were apprehended on Tuesday  with forged Aadhar cards from Agartala's MBB airport. Police sources said that the twelve Bangladeshis had reached the airport with tickets for Chennai via Guwahati by Indigo flight No 6E-119. They were allowed into the terminal building by the CISF jawans on duty after checking their tickets.

But trouble started at the reporting counter where the Bangladeshis like all other passengers had gone to draw their boarding card. The officer on duty at the reporting counter took their Aadhar cards to verify identity but found all of them to be forged and issued in other names. All the cards had been forged by putting photographs only. The Indigo officer immediately informed the police officers in airport police station and all twelve were taken into custody .

Sources from the airport said that all the nabbed twelve are Bangladeshi citizens of Chittagong district. The age group of all are 15 to 25 years had illegally entered Indian territory through Sonamura and obtained forged Aadhar cards there in,lieu of hefty payments.

 Police sources from airport police station said, all twelve was produced in court today four  were sent to police custody for two days and remaining to judicial custody. Besides the Aadhar cards carried by the twelve Bangladeshis were being checked and the matter of involvement of other persons in helping them obtain the cards in Sonamura would also be looked into. All twelve Bangladeshis were headed for Chennai in search of work there.
