Tripura to start Covid vaccination from tomorrow

Agartala, Jan 15,2021:All is set to rollout of Covid-19 vaccination drive across eight districts in Tripura along with entire nation from tomorrow morning.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi  to launch much awaited  pan India Rollout of COVID-19 Vaccination drive on  January 16 morning over 3000 sites across all states and UTs to be virtually connected during the launch and  around 100 beneficiaries to be vaccinated at each site on the inaugural day.

While, soon after arrival of the 'Covishield' vaccines in the state capital on January 13, all received 56, 500 doses of 'Covishield' vaccines manufactured by Serum Institute of India (SII) in 5650 vials has already been dispatches in all districts of the state'

National Health Mission (NHM) director Dr. Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal said with first phase doses of Covihield vaccines, altogether 45,500 health workers will be inoculated and all the health institutions of the state are now fully prepared to start the vaccination drive from January 16.

On the first day of vaccination drive, the vaccination programme will be conducted 17 locations or session sites among 152 session sites across eight districts of the state, said Dr Jaiswal adding that received vaccines have already been distributed in every districts of the state through special insolated vans with security and will be stored in ice lined refrigerators located at all designated centres .

Health department sources said that among 17 session sites, the vaccination drive will be conducted at Gandhigrham primary health centre (PHC), Bhubanban PHC and in Tripura Medical College (TMC) under West Tripura district.

Sources added that the first vaccine shots will be given at Gandhigram PHC at the outskirts of Agartala and as per scheduled a young doctor of the PHC will receive the first shot from a trained vaccinator.

Sources also said that the vaccination programme from Gandhigram PHC will be virtually connected during official launching of vaccination drive by PM on Saturday morning.
