Young student of literature steps into the field of professional writers, makes his first debut novel 'Arachnid'

AGARTALA, July 18, 2021: A writer from Agartala, Aditya Modak, has now become a traditionally published author at the age of twenty-one. His debut novel, "Arachnid," has been published by Ukiyoto Publishing, a traditional publishing house based in Canada.

"Arachnid" is a science fiction psychological horror novel about an arachnophobic man who tries to make sense of the crumbling world he lives in, while fighting his own repressed demons in the form of spiders – both symbolic and literal.  The paperback can be purchased from the publisher's website at the moment, while the e-book is available on Amazon India.

Aditya Modak is currently studying English honours at Bir Bikram Memorial College, under Maharaja Bir Bikram University. Through the publication of his work, the English Literature of Tripura now stands a chance of getting global recognition.

It is a short, fast-paced novel with an infinite number of possible interpretations. Despite being highly ambiguous, the story doesn’t depend on excessive superficial ambiguities and met narratives. The treatment of its subject matter is universal, and it can thus be read and understood by any English-speaking individual, regardless of his or her nationality. Eminent scholar and professor of English Dr Prasanta Chakraborty has lauded the novel, calling it a perfectly crafted psychological study.
