TBSE class X exam begin on peaceful note

Agartala, March 03 (TVN): With throbbing heart beats and pulsating nerves students of the city appeared for their first paper in the TBSE class X exams on Thursday. The number of examinees in TBSE  is about 47,442 students for Class X. Nervousness ruled the campus as students made last minutes revision and discussions with their classmates. TBSE authorities informed said that special arrangements have been made for the Class 10. A flying squad has been constituted to keep a vigil look on the examination process.


Minor reshuffle in state cadre service officers

Agartala, March 03 (TVN): In a minor reshuffle of state service cadre officers,   four state cadre officers  were shifted and posting of two officers was cancelled on Thursday. A notification in this regard was issued by general administration department.

Tamal Majumder , secretary, state election commission transferred and posted as ADM & Collector of South Tripura. He will also hold the charge of project director, DRDA of South Tripura in addition.

Prasenjit Bhattacherjee, OSD, state election commission will hold the charge of secretary, state election commission.Bhaswar Bhattacharjee, additional SDM, Jirania transferred and posted as deputy director, panchayat department.

Pintu Das, deputy collector SDM’s office Ambassa is transferred as deputy collector , SDM’s office, Jirania.Anurag Sen, deputy collector, SDM’s office Kanchanpur is transferred and posted as deputy collector.

Meanwhile, transfer order of Meeta Das, additional director, social welfare and social education department as secretary, police accountability commission has been cancelled.

Besides the transfer order of Rakhi Biswas, joint director, panchayat department as ADM & Collector of South Tripura has been cancelled.              

Portfolio allocations: Tapan Chakraborty get finance

Agartala, March 03, (TVN): The department held by ailing Bhanu Lal Saha, member, council of minister has been reallocated today.  A notification issued by chief minister office stated that the finance portfolio was assigned   to minister for school education, Tapan Chakraborty. Apart from this, the portfolio of information and cultural affairs has been assigned to tourism minister Ratan Bhowmik while the portfolio of food has been allocated to senior minister for power, Manik Dey. The notification will take immediate effect, official sources said. Saha, at present undergoing treatment in AIIMS after cancer was diagnosed in his urinary track.

Badal Choudhury likely to present annual budget

Agartala, March 02, 2016 ( TVN):Senior  minister of the state, Badal Choudhury likely to be given the charge of finance department   ahead of 2016 -17 budget session schedule to start from March 18,sources said. He will present  the annual budget in the assembly.  The situation arise after present finance minister Bhanu Lal Saha is undergoing treatment in AIIMS, after being diagnosed with cancer in the urinary track and was referred to AIIMS for better treatment..He  is expected to undergo surgery at AIIMS very shortly, according to sources. However, his health condition is stable

ADB team visits state

Agartala, March 02, 2016 (TVN): A three member team of Asian Development Bank (ADB) arrived here on Tuesday for two day visit. The team was led by Mr. Rohan, environment specialist of ADB. During their visit they met YP Singh, chief secretary, SK Rakish principal secretary of urban development development. Speaking to TVN, Vishnu Pada Das, chief engineer of urban development said the ADB team is for mission visit. They reviewed   various work undergoing in Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC). Das, informed   ADB have    Rs 296 crore for up gradation of   water supply facilities in central zone and south zone. Under the project seven groundwater treatment plant and 14 overhead water tank will setup in south zone. Besides, solid waste management and septic management will be undertaken in South, East and Central zone of AMC.   The visiting officer of ADB acknowledged the importance of projects for meeting future requirements of safe drinking water and solid waste management for the people of Agartala city.             

Up gradation of Agartala airport: AAI floats tender

Agartala, March 02, 2016( TVN):Airport Authority of India ( AAI) have floated tender for up gradation of  Agartala , sources said.The Airports Authority of India (AAI) will spend Rs.450 crore to upgrade Agartala airport to international standards.Ground work like survey and other related works have already been completed. The project work will be start soon.

The state government has urged the Centre to declare Agartala airport as an international one, with flights to Dhaka and Chittagong in Bangladesh for trade and commerce between the two countries. If the airport would be made an international airport as part of India's Look East policy to increase trade and commerce in the North Eastern region and boost connectivity with Southeast Asian countries.

A master plan has been prepared for upgrading the airport and 72 acres of land acquired by the state government was handed over to AAI for expansion of the runway.After up gradation, it would be able to handle 1,000 passengers per hour.

Every day more than 10 flights operate in a day from the Agartala airport, which is the second busiest in the Northeast region after Guwahati airport in Assam, and will be the third international standard airport after the Guwahati and Imphal airports.

The Centre has also announced that Imphal's Tulihal airport will be an international airport after its modernization.
